RHCB Marketing Manager
The Random House Children’s Books School and Library Marketing department is seeking a Marketing Manager to join their team. This person is responsible for finding meaningful ways to market RHCB books and authors to teachers and librarians around the country.
Specifically, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for the following areas:
• Teacher Research –
◦ Survey, research, and discover new ways of working with teachers to make RHCB books the go to titles for classroom use
◦ Grow contact list of teachers, principals, administrators and professors of education
• Educational Sales Contact –
◦ Manage advertising working with Reps and overseeing Marketing Assistant to plan, write and traffic ads for jobber print catalogs and online sites
◦ Fulfill requests for author speakers including pitching and coordinating events and travel
◦ Produce jobber specific promo requests
◦ Plan and attend RHCB’s Marketing presence at EBMA
• Seasonal Marketing Plans –
◦ Responsible for Brand Title Marketing including title-specific marketing, brainstorming, and writing and trafficking of promo materials
• Educator Nights –
◦ Responsible for leveraging and increasing RHCB presence at both National and Indie Educator nights
◦ Work with National/Indie Sales Reps to provide plans and materials for accounts
• Regional/State Shows –
◦ Increase profile at both librarian & teacher shows
◦ Work with Library Marketing Reps (Adult) that attend some shows to continue to make sure RHCB correctly represented via books, materials, and authors
Requirements include:
• A minimum of 4 years’ experience in book publishing
• Detail-oriented and highly motivated with good written and oral communication skills
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Can multi-task and handle a heavy workload with tight deadlines
• Interest and desire for children’s literature, particularly in the school and library field
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Travel is required for this role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
