Job Summary:
Responsible for managing Employee Communications staff, strategies, andprograms. Partners in the integration of communication strategiesacrossthe company. Manages professional employees and/or supervisors, and maymanage business support/technical staff. Has accountability formanaging financial resources. Provides subject matter guidance toemployees. Has overall responsibility for developing/administeringperformance standards for the organizational unit. Develops processesand procedures to implement functional strategies.
Core Responsibilities:
• Manages Employee Communications initiatives designed to support keybusiness objectives, long-term goals, and projects. Educates staff on
new initiatives, messages, goals, and projects determined by seniormanagement.
• Partners with senior management to develop and implement broad-basedEmployee Communications tools, providing employees withmessaging and\industry/competitive context for all key business initiatives.
• Trains staff and counsels other personnel on best use of new andavailable Employee Communications tools.
-Writes and edits company-wide communications.
• Develops metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of EmployeeCommunications initiatives and tools. Recommends actions based on metricresults.
• Develops, trains, and manages staff in day-to-day operations.Participates in performance reviews.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in mattersof significance.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to worknights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Resposibilities:
• Establish and nurture relationships with business division and corporate function leaders to gain their trust and influence their approach to communication
• Collaborate with business partners to drive the creation and execution of an innovative internal communication strategy that drives both business and cultural outcomes through key messages delivered to various internal audiences through several different communication channels
• Incorporate change management techniques to achieve awareness and ultimate adoption of key initiatives requiring associates to think and act differently for success
• Leverage external messaging in collaboration with corporate communications team members for brand positioning internally
• Develop metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of Employee Communications initiatives and tools. Recommend actions based on metric results
• Develop/execute effective employee communications campaigns/programs that foster the company's culture and enhance employee pride and engagement
• Develop effective communications to drive alignment and understanding of execution of the company's short-term and long term strategy
• Foster connection to company's brand, products and services for internal audiences
• Engage associates and drive positive behavior in support of employer brand
• Consistent exercise of independent judgement and discretion in matters of significance
Required Qualifications
• BA/BS in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field
• Minimum of 6-9 years of experience in internal/culture communication
• Strong written and verbal skills. Must be able to produce high-quality drafts under tight timelines that are tailored to specific audiences and build rapport with team members and diverse stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of communication strategy
• Ability to take both strategic/creative and detailed-oriented approaches to drive measurable performance outcomes.
Job Specification:
