Job Title
Sr Social Media Manager - Martha
The Sr Social Media Manager will lead development and implementation of an effective social media strategy for Meredith’s brands as assigned. Focus of this role will be on social engagement leveraging all relevant social platforms to maximize social reach across Meredith’s core brands as assigned. This person will work very closely with brand editorial, product, marketing and SEO teams, analytics as well as platform technology teams to support social programs that drive brand awareness, audience development and overall engagement. This person will also work closely with internal teams to optimize organic social activity on our web sites and act as social media industry experts within the company.
Essential Job Functions
35% Support and increase effectiveness of social efforts across Meredith brands
• Use data and analysis to provide insights for editorial teams to maximize content reach and performance
• Provide strategic recommendations focused on driving business objectives such as traffic, revenue, social reach, etc.
• Help manage relationships and communications with major social media companies and vendors
• Provide timely and relevant information to brand teams about platform updates and features that impact their business in a clear and concise manner
• Create the standard by which we use social media insights to drive action on editorial and product enhancements
30% Act as subject matter expert on maximizing social integrations on our websites and other products
• Provide insight into best practices and provide recommendations to product managers for maximizing sharing, social login, commenting and other community-building opportunities on our sites.
• Develop partnership opportunities and manage social swap relationships.
Ideate, pitch, develop and manage user generated content for the site. Work with ad sales team to create or support programs/campaigns that are able to be sponsored.
30% Monitor and Analyze Social Performance Data
• Monitor and interpret metrics to identify trends and provide strategic direction for future social efforts, tests or additional programs
• Effectively evaluate competitor social programs; incorporate best practices into current programming and long term strategy where applicable. Educate brand teams on new trends and opportunities.
5% All other programs as assigned to help achieve engagement, traffic and/or revenue goals
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or Journalism, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Minimum five years in a digital media or social media environment.
Extensive understanding of social media platforms and social analytics tools
Demonstrated track record of growing and engaging audience through social networks
Ability to adapt quickly to ever-changing technologies and environment
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
In-depth working knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios. Candidate should demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, strong interpersonal and analytical skills, the ability to multi-task and shift gears quickly, and strong project management skills.
