The Commercial & Policy team is a horizontal function supporting the wider Open Research Group publishing units. It is responsible for driving business strategy through business model development, pricing, policy and commercial oversight, as well as supporting new product growth.
The role of Open Research Intern is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate to work for one of the world’s leading academic publishers, and to learn more about the rapidly evolving area of open research. In this role, you will be supporting the Open Research Commercial & Policy team in monitoring developments in open access policy and funding, updating our websites and documentation, and performing additional project work as required.
Responsibilities
• Perform online research, including identifying open access (OA) policy and funding information on funder and institutional websites.
• Check and update records in Springer Nature’s OA funding and policy database
• Carry out checks or standardisation of additional datasets as required
• Check and update content on Springer Nature’s websites
• Update documentation used by Springer Nature authors and staff
• Support the Commercial & Policy team with additional project work as required
Experience, skills and qualifications
Essential
• Undergraduate degree
• Numerate and computer-literate, with a sharp eye for detail and a working knowledge of Excel
• Strong communication skills, including a good standard of written English
• Able to learn quickly and adapt to different tasks
Desirable
• Knowledge and understanding of open access publishing and open research
