Pearson Finance Services:
Pearson Finance Services (PFS) is a dedicated finance centre established in 2016 to support the Pearson finance structure across the globe. It's main remit is to produce reports and data to help our business partnering teams, giving insights and information needed to add real value to the business. PFS staff provide consistent and standardised metrics, unified global reporting and forward planning data to Finance Business Partners and Financial Controllers across the globe. The main scope of PFS includes general accounting, reporting, controlling, revenue and pricing.
Summary of role:
Senior Analyst, Team Leader of the finance transformation team, with the responsibility for identifying and implementing process improvement and standardisation across Pearson Financial Services (PFS).
• Lead & manage a small team of Transformation Analysts, reporting to the Transformation & Continuous Improvement Manager.
• Project manage a portfolio of initiatives through implementing strong governance processes to prioritise, track and deliver.
Main activities/responsibilities:
• Identify, prioritise and champion the implementation of process standardisation and improvement across PFS.
• Manage and coach a small team of Transformation Analysts to deliver support to larger scale global projects.
• Leverage accounting and finance knowledge to deliver tangible benefits to organisation.
• Support stabilisation of delivery centre to transition/transform new work.
• Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders to maximise customer service and meet performance management targets.
• Assist in managing the impact of change to Pearson systems architecture, on processes and team.
• Help to create a work atmosphere conducive to a high degree of integrity and teamwork.
• Be customer focused and commercially aware.
Qualifications and experience required
Essential:
• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) or significant experience of project management/process improvement in a large consultancy environment will be considered.
• Experience of managing people and/or large projects.
• Demonstrable knowledge of financial function processes.
• Familiarity with Financial and ERP systems (Hyperion and Oracle a distinct advantage)
• Intermediate to advanced excel skills.
• Experience of process improvement
• Excellent communication skills.
Desirable:
• Experience of working with recognised continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, PRINCE2 an added advantage.
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Change management.
• Self-starter who can prioritise and make effective decisions.
Expected results:
• Ensure Service Level Agreements are met and service is delivered to end users as expected.
• Contribute to measurable process improvement and efficiency gains over time including simplification and standardization.
• Strong working relationship with the teams supported.
• Build culture of continuous improvement.
