Software Specialist I, Statement Design
JOB SUMMARY
Position supports all activities related and concerning to customer billing statements including but not limited to: configuration of billing platform statement design parameters, and Message Manager setup; performing quality assurance tasks related to statement presentation changes, messages, rate adjustments, customer notifications, and marketing ad pages. This position has interaction with Charter personnel, billing vendors, and other external contacts.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Apply knowledge of the billing platforms and statement-specific applications and products.
Utilize knowledge of Charter services and products.
With direction, maintain and perform updates to statement parameters on the billing platform (production, training and test). Review and validate parameter updates and configuration as required to ensure continuity and system integrity.
Research and respond to internal customer requests.
Provide overall statement support (may include on call rotation involvement).
Support statement testing efforts in test environments.
Support testing for enhancements prior to implementation to ensure daily operations are not adversely impacted.
Perform research and respond to inquiries from all areas of the organization.
Participate in billing system release/upgrade activities and assume a support role for scheduled releases.
Troubleshoot statement production issues and manage updates between internal application support and the statement print vendor.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned by management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
1-4 ordering/Billing system experience
1-4 years of experience using Microsoft Office products in a telecom industry preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat Pro preferred
Create, enhance and/or maintain the data structures required to run the prototype or recurring reports
Strong communications skills
Must have the ability to work independently.
Must have the ability to support multiple initiatives in a fast rapid environment.
Must be detail-oriented and produce work with a high degree of accuracy.
Must possess excellent proofreading skills.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to timelines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Knowledge of cable television industry
3-4 years ICOMS/CSG Billing Experience
Education
Bachelor's degree in IT or related field is preferred from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
