Marketing Assistant - Portfolio, Sentinel
The Portfolio and Sentinel imprints at Penguin Random House are searching for a Marketing Assistant to join their team! In this role, the Assistant will provide administrative support and aid in the creation of marketing materials, social media projects, and advertising campaigns. The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and superb organizational skills.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with prominent authors such as Sophia Amoruso, Simon Sinek, Ryan Holiday, Marie Forleo, Cal Newport and Brian Kilmeade on hardcover and paperback titles in the business and political categories.
Specific responsibilities include:
1. Managing and actively promoting the websites and social media for the imprints, including Facebook and Twitter.
2. Working with Publicists and authors on sales options for events and bulk sales.
3. Coordinating with the Sales and Editorial teams to update key marketing and sales materials, and collaborating with the Ad/Promo department on various projects.
4. Writing promotional materials such as postcards, flyers, and sell sheets.
5. Designing PowerPoint presentations for sales conferences.
6. Researching new promotional opportunities via Bookscan, Brandwatch, Muckrack, Facebook, and other tools.
7. Coordinating the development and production of author videos.
8. Providing general administrative support such as answering phones, scheduling meetings, doing mailings, submitting expense reports, etc.

• Strong interest in book publishing, specifically nonfiction
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a deadline driven environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Strong understanding of social media platforms
