Community Editor, CN Traveler
Strategic development and stewardship of CNT community
Collaborate with CNT's City Guides, product, design, technology, editorial, and audience development teams to create experiences fostering the acquisition, growth, and engagement of an active community of travelers who will create content for CNT, primarily (but not exclusively) in the form of reviews and ratings of venues throughout the world.
● cultivation: acquire new users who will generate content and engage in ways that are of high value to CNT and to other users
● monitoring/selection: devise tactics for monitoring user inputs and selecting for quality and value
● rewards/promotion: devise methods for recognizing high-value user content and drawing attention to it within the community by way of modeling
● activation/engagement: devise ways of enticing users to engage and contribute high value content, and to become ambassadors for the brand, including by cultivating relationships with venues and other relevant networks
● dimensionalization: devise ways to extend CNT's relationship with such users beyond the site, including, possibly, by way of events, smaller local groups, and indirectly related activities
Brand extensions
● Work with audience development, social, editorial, and sales & marketing teams to develop programs that will activate audiences, establish and deepen affiliations with the brand, and provide platforms for partners and clients to establish mutually beneficial relationships with CNT's audience.
● Consider cultivation, activation, dimensionalization outside of the context of reviews. How can CNT deepen relationships with its users, find new value exchanges? How can CNT turn its users into advocates for the brand, and for the travel ethos it represents?
Video
● Collaborate with video, editorial, and audience development teams to engage and extend an audience for video content from CNT.
● Provide feedback on content strategy and cross-platform content marketing strategy.
● Consider ways to engage users in providing CNT with video content, and/or using CNT as a platform for sharing such content with one another as related to their travel experiences, in ways that can be made to feel part of the experience of the CNT brand.
Audience growth/activation
● Work with social team to acquire new, high-value followers and to activate existing fans to engage more deeply with the brand, create content, and evangelize.
● With social team, develop campaigns and programs to cultivate CNT's wider community, prompting engagement with CNT itself, with each other, and with our network of venues, purveyors, and experiences.
