Account Director - Traditional Home
The Account Director sells advertising space within assigned territory and accounts. This position interacts extensively with agency and client personnel. The Account Director maintains or improves share-of-market for the magazine and maximizes profitability.
Essential Job Functions
70%
Sells advertising space in the magazine via personal contact, written electronic communication and telephone calls to assigned clients and agencies within sales territory. Works closely with management and the marketing team to develop unique opportunities that can be leveraged to drive revenue from various budgets including print, digital, social, video, experiential, database, custom publishing, etc.
20%
Utilizes visual presentations, research reports and special sales data in personal contact sales to individuals and/or groups. Customizes presentations to the specific needs of the client/account
5%
Tracks magazine share of market on assigned accounts on a monthly basis, and prospects for new opportunities.
5%
Provides management with timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual budget forecasts.
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements| All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Five to six year’s sales experience, preferably in magazines, newspapers or other print / digital medium. Specific experience of working with / navigating accounts held at major ad agencies a plus.
