The Production Designer position works with all areas of the Marketing department and Design Group. The person in this position will assist in all design and execution. This position will report to the Senior Director Creative Services and assist in project management on a day-to-day basis, as well as help with simple design needs for creative.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
• Work closely with Senior Designer to support BMI’s events including award shows, concerts stages and showcases. This includes sizing and executing graphic design files for printed and digital assets, stage banners, posters, postcards and other promotional materials.
• Prepare ad files, send to publications and digital outlets and confirm that they have been received.
• Layout and printing of standardized photo books of honorees from BMI awards shows throughout the year. This includes light photo correction work.
• Prepare various print materials for in-house printer (document services) and work closely with them to ensure materials are printed correctly and on time.
• Collect and organize various digital assets for the Design Group.
• Research vendors for various design project output.
• Liaison with vendors: get estimates, prepare and send files, follow up.
• Get ads and posters printed and framed upon request.
• Various projects as needed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Design school degree or Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university with concentration in design.
• 1-2 years design related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite programs, specifically Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of pre-production
• Proficiency in graphics software
• Creative thought process and ability to design entry level graphics
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to present ideas in an easy to understand and engaging manner
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage details
• Attention to detail and efficiency are a must
• Ability to interact professionally with a diverse employee population and with all levels of staff and management
• Ability to work independently and with good judgment
• Maintain flexibility in a charging fast-paced work environment
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines
• Strong proof-reading and editing ability in order to prepare documents or publication and distribution with/and maintaining database systems and reports
