Assistant Producer, Condé Nast Traveler
The assistant producer is responsible for assisting the Senior Producer and the digital editorial team with the research, acquisition, and production of images that appear on cntraveler.com. S/he must be able to work on tight deadlines as part of an editorial team and must have significant digital know-how, particularly regarding photography. The ideal candidate may have an editorial or agency background, but will possess experience or strong personal interest in travel, as well as a minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience commissioning and/or editing photos, and extensive knowledge of Photoshop.
Primary Responsibilities
• Research and license photography for a wide range of stories, from archival pieces to coverage of exhibitions, events, news and city guides. Must be comfortable contacting image holders and being diligent with image requests where necessary. On some occasions, this person may need to assist with the commissioning of small shoots for upcoming digital features.
• Manage relationships with image providers, stock photo houses, as well as freelance writers and columnists who submit images for the site.
• Advise CNT staff members and contributors on best practices for all elements of digital imagery, including in articles, slideshows, social media, and email marketing.
• Pitch photo-based stories on a regular basis and execute on creating popular, well-trafficked slideshows and image galleries. Knowledge of SEO and social media will be extremely important.
• Assist with the curation, building, and editing of galleries in CNT's CMS.
• Understand and apply copyright law and industry practices when it comes to the use of images on a commercial, non-ecommerce site.
• Manage invoicing and budget-related issues.

Requirements
• At least 1 year of experience commissioning and/or editing photos.
• Degree in photo/design related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Experience with stock photo research on services like Getty, Alamy, etc.
• Proficiency in Photoshop.
• Proficiency with modern, digital CMS environments.
• Keen eye for photography.
• Impeccable attention to detail.
• Knowledge of photography practices, color, composition.
• Design skills a plus.
• Very strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Intimate knowledge of the social media space.
• Knowledge of and passion for travel a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, open digital environment, and to pivot quickly.
