The Advertising and Promotion Department is seeking an Assistant Manager to act as a project manager and designer, working with imprint(s) to manage, design, and produce a variety of print and digital ads, social media assets, and printed material.
Responsibilities:
• Manages promotion for assigned division(s).
◦ Pulls copy when necessary, designs, and routes jobs for approval; requests estimates.
◦ Creates purchase orders and works with print vendors on the creation of electronic and printed promotional materials (print & webads, digital Facebook/eCard creative, displays, sell‐sheets, postcards, brochures, promotional kits, stickers, giveaways, etc).
• Creates insertion orders and maintains a seasonal schedule of academic and library print and online advertising and promotional assets; writes copy, designs, routes, and submits ads to publication when final.
• Designs and routes monthly co-op ads.
• Checks egalley files for quality control/revisions/posting.
• Supervises Ad Promo Coordinator.
Qualifications:
• 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience required
• 2-3 years of experience in publishing preferred
• Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs and strong design skills required: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
• Working knowledge of print production, encouraged
• Knowledge of HTML and Flash, a plus
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and set priorities under pressure
• Excellent communication skills
• Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
