Director - Finance, AMC Studios
OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for working closely with all channel operating departments, as well as corporate finance, accounting, advertising sales, affiliate sales and various corporate departments, with a focus on budget preparation, quarterly forecasting and monthly accounting close process and reporting. Director will work closely with Vice President of Finance on several growing areas of importance, including ancillary revenue streams, contractual rights projections, and treatment of original productions and rolling forecast.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage the Budget/Forecast for scripted/unscripted development and overall deals
• Help Development and Production teams manage project timing and financial goals
• Manage/report on carryover balances
• Assist SVP Worldwide Content Distribution with financial aspects of international deals (structure, terms, license fees, minimum guarantees, etc.) on all productions
• Work with BA and Acquisitions on cash funding/ cash payments for all original productions
• Prepare ultimate for owned series (specific show TBD)
• Manage financial aspects of writer’s room/pilots
• Work with VP, Finance with analysis and reporting related to Tax Department
• Assist in Budget/Forecast/Long-Term Planning preparation
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting required, MBA / CPA preferred
• Min 8 years of experience in Corporate or Operational Finance or in combination with Accounting experience.
• Experience as a financial professional preferably in media or entertainment
• Budget, forecasting and reporting experience
• Exposure to ancillary revenue streams, affiliate or advertising revenue
• Managerial experience
• Essbase knowledge a plus
