TITLE: VP, Production AMC Studios
OVERVIEW:
Seeking a Vice President of Production to join the team that oversees in-house and licensed scripted production for AMC Studios. Must be a creative problem solver, great communicator and experienced in managing day-to-day production. Seeking someone with strong Producer and below-the-line relationships, who’s equally comfortable navigating creative and production concerns. May be either LA or NY based, and must be experienced in working with crews and tax incentives across the country and across the world. Provide leadership and oversight of physical production of scripted series and specials. Deliver compelling programming that meets creative expectations by facilitating communication, thinking strategically, staying current on new technologies, seeking new talent and providing support to business partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee day-to-day production on assigned scripted series
• Serve as liason externally with show Producers, and internally with AMC creative teams and various studio and network departments
• Participate in managing internal and external AMC Studios and Network communication, including dissemination of production materials for all AMC scripted shows
• Oversee AMC production interests in co-productions, acquisitions and licensed scripted program; working closely with studio partners and key creative talent
• Identify and vet Line Producer candidates by communicating with agents, Producers, networks and studio partners
• Facilitate approvals for key show production staffing (Directors, Editors, D.P.’s, etc.)
• Participate in management of script-to-series development process, ensuring that production input is considered in the process
• Manage and assist Producers and Production Finance team in preparation of budgets, schedules and other various production documents
• Supervise production interests in assigned ancillary internet and interstitial content
• Finds solutions to budgetary challenges while always maintaining the creative integrity of the project
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Min 10 years of experience
• Degree and Certifications – College degree
• Managerial experience – Studio/Network or Production Company experience at Director level or above, or freelance experience as Producer, UPM or Production Supervisor
