JOB SUMMARY
The Dir, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is responsible for the end-to-end process of monitoring, reporting, analyzing and interpreting financial operating results and suggesting corrective action on expenses for various corporate departments of Advertising Sales division. This position is a financial liaison for the respective operational departments and accounting and supervises 2-3 staff.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Create annual budget and five-year plan for operating expenses of various corporate departments according to published timetable. Assist and advise department heads in formulating plans that are in line with operating objectives. Ensure that all direct expenditures are identified and timing is appropriately reflected in the plans. Prepare presentation package for internal review, providing commentary on year over year and prior plan comparisons.
2. Create quarterly forecasts including operating expense for various corporate departments according to published timetable. Assist and advise department heads in re-projecting full year performance that is in line with operating objectives. Ensure that all direct expenditures are identified and timing is appropriately reflected in the forecasts. Prepare presentation package for internal review, providing commentary on budget and prior year comparisons.
3. Manage all aspects of monthly accounting close process, including preparation and approval of accruals, variance analysis against budget/forecast and key performance measures and monthly review meetings with department heads.
4. Based on monthly meetings with department heads, update rolling forecast document with most up to date information in preparation for next quarterly forecast.
1. Manage all updates to salary models for related departments, including merit and equity adjustments, promotions and new hires. Provide guidance to hiring managers on budgets for open positions.
2. Manage year-end close process for related departments ensuring that all appropriate entries are made and any issues resolved. Monitor year end expense accruals into Q1 of following year, ensuring all accrued expense are paid/reconciled.
3. Monitor prepaid schedule for items scheduled to hit related departments in later periods.
4. Prepare ad-hoc analysis and modeling, sensitivity analyses, etc., as needed.
5. Supervise and develop staff, including the completion of performance reviews and ensuring adequate training, knowledge of accounting rules, company systems and overall business performance
6. Periodically review financial processes for areas to improve, implementing efficiencies where needed.
7. Perform other duties as required

RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Financial planning & analysis and/or accounting experience
Management experience
Hyperion Essbase software experience strongly preferred
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience
CPA/Master’s preferred
