Associate Producer, Alchemy

The Associate Producer will manage development and production for sponsored content and custom branded productions across Group Nine Media: Seeker, The Dodo, Thrillist and NowThis. Candidate must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience working on client-facing branded entertainment projects, with a strong background in digital video. Candidate will possess an astute editorial instinct and high level of creativity at all stages of production. S/he should be a natural leader, effective problem solver, and hold the capability to efficiently lead all aspects of a campaign, including in-house and external production teams, client/agency partners, talent, budget and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Develop branded content solutions across the Group Nine portfolio, including but not limited to series ideation, budget forecasting and logistical planning. Oversee, produce, direct and manage editing for assigned projects within budget and scope
• Actively manage multiple productions in various stages of production (development, pre-production, production, and post)
• Work closely with editorial, business development, sales and clients to provide and uphold creative and editorial direction from pitch to delivery; ensure branded content meets editorial standards and development goals while seamlessly living within the editorial ecosystems of Group Nine brands
• Clearly communicate video production creative processes, editorial voice, and creative direction of content to Group Nine sales and client teams
• Book and manage shoot-times, locations, talent, contractors, contributors and guests for shoots
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure correct, timely delivery of sold advertiser sponsorships. May include developing scripts and show notes, enforcing integration expectations, furnishing creative assets, developing production timelines, attending integration shoots, approving in-show integrations and confirming correct episode delivery
• Partner across Alchemy and editorial teams to determine branded video distribution schedule and platform strategy in tandem with the network editorial schedule
• Assist in the research, development, pitch, planning and production of new Group Nine branded properties and formats
• Support development of editorial partnerships as an ongoing Branded Content offering
• Ability to travel as needed
Qualifications:
• Minimum 4 years of experience producing client-facing digital video content
• Active problem solver with experience across production workflow, content marketing, creative direction and/or talent management
• Highly creative storyteller with ability to lead and manage multiple projects and staff seamlessly
• Proven track record of making content that is shareable, accessible and sponsor-friendly; keen eye for quality programming
• Ability to manage expectations of internal and external clients; proven effective at communicating across many levels of the organization
• Familiarity with digital content sales cycle, experience effectively working with business development, marketing, editorial and client teams
• Impeccable communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Comfort working in fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet tight deadlines
• Strong sense of humor, positive attitude, collaborative approach
• Proficiency in MS Office and Google documents
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative preferred but not required
• Bachelor's Degree in journalism, marketing, broadcast or related field
• A strong interest in science related content creation, production management, branded production, and non-fiction entertainment preferred
