Summary of role
• Ensure efficient & effective management of all the activity required by the Finance team served, utilising and tracking performance against an agreed suite of Service Level Agreements
• Review all needs & requests & organise the workload accordingly
• Act as the single point of contact for the Finance Business Partnering Team and be an integrated part of that leadership team
• As a member of the PFS leadership team, work to develop & continuously improve the services performed by PFS, constantly seeking further efficiency & effectiveness through standardisation, simplification & elimination as appropriate.
• Support the Finance Business Partnering Team in educating the business on the Finance Operating Model as required
Main activities/responsibilities:
Manage the activities in the running of the North America Financial Control team. This includes establishing and managing operating plan and goals for the team, developing and maintaining work schedules, back up procedures and managing staffing requirements to ensure coverage:
• Negotiate and ensure Service Level Agreements are met and service is delivered to customers as expected
• Recruit, retain and motivate staff that are “Best in Class.”
• Ensure that teams function effectively and efficiently.
• Develop individual team members using an on-going coaching, personal development and performance management process.
• Create an environment that allows team members to grow and be continuously challenged
• Continuously review processes to ensure that the North America Financial Control area operates in an efficient and cost effective manner and identify upcoming opportunities for improvement
• Develop and manage short and long term operational goals and tactical objectives ensuring customer goals are incorporated
• Develop, build and maintain relationships with all finance areas serviced by PFS
• Develop, maintain, and update personal knowledge and expertise through appropriate means to ensure understanding of relevant knowledge areas and to identify possible future developments
• Monitor, control & identify improvements required to systems, processes and databases to ensure system and data security and ensure they are up to date and comply with current legislation
Qualifications and experience required:
Qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 Years post-qualified experience.
Background in the following areas and the ability to leverage these skills in support of the finance and the business area:
• Finance function and accounting operations, financial management and management accounting
• Product pricing
• Detailed knowledge around finance function processes (RTR, PTP, OTC)
• Fluent English speaker
• Experience working in a multi-national matrix organization.
• Strong understanding of materiality and ability to prioritize across competing agendas
• Ability to identify business risks and implementation of tactics to mitigate
• Ability to identify & implement process optimization
• Flexibility to meet tight and changing deadlines.
