The Digital Producer will manage the successful development and delivery of Business Publishing MyLab online courses as Pearson transitions from a publishing organization to a digital courseware solutions provider. This position is responsible for managing the entire product development process for Digital Studio from end-to-end, including:
• defining scope and requirements;
• establishing schedules;
• working with vendors and/or subject matter experts to create content according to content plans
• managing budgets;
• managing vendors;
• reviewing technical issues and providing technical support as they are escalated, crafting responses, and tracking issues to be resolved in the product;
• setting and managing customer expectations; and
• ensuring that the product meets stakeholder needs.
The Digital Producer is responsible for completing projects according to defined guidelines, budgets, schedules, and quality standards. The Producer is expected to make recommendation and suggest improvements to process in each of these areas. The Producer is accountable for final integration quality assurance and works closely with Courseware Quality Assurance to track, resolve, and escalate issues.
The Producer takes a lead in communicating the end-to-end workflow related to courseware production across cross-functional teams. In this role, the Digital Producer will have the opportunity to facilitate and direct activities to deliver projects according to established financial, schedule, and quality objectives while establishing and maintaining best practices and ensuring quality in the whole process.
The successful candidate will possess a solid project management skills and an understanding of course production, development and site architecture. He/she will be responsible for establishing/implementing processes to organize and coordinate the efficient completion of projects and tasks.
Job Duties
Planning: Collaborates with program team with particular attention to product delivery, strategy, resource, budget, and schedule needs. Works with team to ensure established use of project management tools such as Smartsheets, RACIs, and workflows, maintaining best practices and ensuring that specifications meet discipline-wide standards.
Content Planning: Communicates requirements for each program component to cross-functional team and ensures final content achieves approved content plan.
Schedule: Establishes detailed schedules for MyLab components; monitors and controls schedule dependencies for applicable components. Manages overall product schedule (content, course, and software). Works with the product team to determine a timeline for release of MyLab courses.
Resources: Identifies, contracts, and manages external resources for quality compliance, schedule, and budget. Provides feedback on performance.
Budget: Communicates budget requirements to all parties, maintains overview of budget as products progress through production.
Integration: Ensures successful integration of content into Pearson platforms. Works closely with Learning Tools product managers to enrich courses.
Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identifies risks to course production and escalates so proper mitigation can happen in a timely manner.
Problem solving: Collaborates with decision makers and stakeholders to actively resolve conflicts between plan and execution of various aspects of program plan. Establishes standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation; issues status reports as needed; alerts stakeholders to potential issues on schedule, quality, budget, etc. Serves as a technical support resource, reviewing issues as they are escalated, crafting responses, and tracking issues to be resolved in the product. Communicates, investigates, and resolves reported content issues.
Quality: Communicates quality control plan to program team and monitors implementation of plan. Drafts use cases and test plans for QA testing. Directs issue resolution through JIRA as appropriate. Serves as one of several escalation points for customer service and tech support issues related to courseware builds and relevant content. Manages change requests as needed.
Communication: Plans, organizes, participates, and leads periodic meetings to evaluate status, pro-actively problem-solve, and proactively mitigate risks. Educates product team on new lab functionality, alternate approaches, and improvements.

Experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 4-6 years job experience, preferably in higher education academic publishing project management role.
• Proven track record of communicating and influencing management and stakeholders
• Experience managing content and content workflows within technical environments - planning and delivering technical products and experience
• Strong project management skills; able to identify issues early enough to mitigate a successful solution.
• Proficiency with PC & Mac, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT), Google Docs, Smartsheet, or other project management tools as well as ability to master new software quickly
• Basic HTML coding skills required
• Working knowledge of proprietary Pearson systems and supported systems preferred
