The Senior Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis will be a key member of the overall FP&A team that is responsible for the company’s financial planning, reporting and analysis that is provided to executive leadership, the Board and investors. The team works closely with the business segment FP&A and corporate accounting teams to prepare monthly/quarterly analysis and reporting and to develop annual budgets, long-range scenarios, monthly/quarterly forecasts and various related financial deliverables to be utilized in strategic decision-making. Position will report to the Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis and will be based in McLean, Va.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist with the review and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial performance of the business to determine key drivers impacting the Company’s performance.
Help prepare the monthly reporting package for the executive management team and the quarterly Board reporting. Establish new reporting as necessary.
Assist in development of a new key metrics package for senior management.
Help support Investor Relations during the quarterly earnings process, including analysis to understand key metric trends and to prepare for the earnings release and investor call. Additionally, aid in any benchmarking analysis to understand the company’s performance relative to our peer group.
Assist in the preparation of the monthly forecast package for executive management, as well as the budgeting process.
Help prepare any additional ad hoc financial analysis for strategic business decision making.
Requirements:
6-8 years of finance experience; FP&A specific experience a plus.
BS/BA Degree; MBA, CFA or CPA preferred.
Outstanding communications and interpersonal skills.
Must have the highest standards of accuracy, organization and precision and the ability to think creatively and strategically while acting tactically.
Must be able to think beyond just “reporting” the numbers and effectively present the “why” behind the financials.
Demonstrated ability to establish positive relationships and work effectively with all internal and external constituencies.
Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities and rapid changes is essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with well-developed analytical capabilities.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
SAP Business Objects Planning & Consolidation skills highly desirable.
