Job Description Summary
The SWOT Tools Lead – GLP is a critical role to the evolution of Pearson from a publishing organization to a digital courseware solutions provider. In this role, team members will help product teams and the IT group bring technology and capabilities on line that will enable us to produce product effectively and at scale.
The SWOT Tools Lead – GLP will manage and oversee the capabilities and functionality for specific areas of content development (Assessment, TOC, QUAD, etc). This role enables the editorial, content development, production, and digital studio teams to create world class content at scale, and offers our customers unparalleled stability. The SWOT Tools Lead – GLP will focus on ensuring operational efficiencies are maintained within his or her respective platform purview, and that any issues are prioritized correctly across HE and addressed quickly. The lead will ensure any maintenance and/or capability changes are communicated, and overall compliance to established protocols necessary for each output are followed by the build teams.
The SWOT Tools Lead – GLP coordinates and communicates issues, documents affected titles, and ensures priorities are understood and communicated to the product teams. He/she will also be responsible for managing communication between team members and the Technology Product teams, escalating any critical global issues to the Director, Standardized Capabilities and Tools for appropriate mitigation and executive escalation. He/she will work in conjunction with workflow leads to ensure all issues are communicated to the production teams.
The SWOT Tools Lead – GLP engages closely with the Digital Studio/Media Producers working on the day-to-day product builds and has accountability for the appropriate use and output of a properly executed and coded content by ensuring production teams follow the approved processes and guidelines.
Due to the fluid nature of the work related to GLP, it must be understood that the day-to-day functions of this position may change, depending on priority needs and platform state.
Assignment Scope
• Functions as a primary stakeholder for tools and capabilities for the HE disciplines both within Pearson and external to the organization (vendors, authors and customers) on platform and tool maintenance and development.

Job Duties
Planning: Helps on-board teams to approved processes and guidelines related to content development in tools. Collaborates with Content digital teams to ensures content is being developed in the most stable, efficient manner using the proper tools. Anticipates and adjusts for problems and roadblocks. Measures performance against goals, evaluates results.
Risk identification and mitigation: Point of escalation for studio/media teams to resolve platform and/or tool issues. Communicate out new processes, ensures questions or issues are addressed quickly.
Problem solving: Interacts with decision makers/stakeholders to resolve conflicts between product, technology, and business teams with various aspects of issues resolution. Makes and implements decisions compatible with organizational and business goals. Defines issues/needs thoroughly and accurately. Analyzes impact of decisions before executing them.
Leadership: Establish alliances with other departments and organizations in order to assess potential partnerships in order to mitigate issues. Demonstrates initiative and assumes responsibility for successes and failures. Plans strategically to minimize situations of a reactive nature.
