Physical Production Intern — Motion Picture Group, Fall 2017
Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) is a subsidiary of Sony Entertainment Inc., a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Sony Corporation. SPE's global operations encompass motion picture production, acquisition and distribution; television production, acquisition and distribution; television networks; digital content creation and distribution; operation of studio facilities; and development of new entertainment products, services and technologies.
Physical Production spearheads and supervises feature film production strategies for Columbia Pictures. The process begins from the time a film title is being considered for production and carries thru to delivery of the movie. We work closely with finance, creative, and business affairs to present a comprehensive production plan and with those partners, closely manage and execute the plan. Additionally, physical production has taken the lead in fomenting support for increased diversity within the company. Along with our highly successful diversity executive trainee program, we consider the internships as being strategic to our mission in increasing diversity within the industry ranks. While diversity in front of the camera garners the most notice, the lack of diversity in the crafts and other below the line areas is even more striking. To that end, the physical production internships are a great gateway

• Watching dailies and making notes with production executives in regards to potential production issues.
• Assembling crew availability lists from below-the-line talent agencies.
• Attending internal production meetings to learn how finance, post-production, visual effects and physical production share information and support each other.
