Operations Intern – Creative Center, Fall 2017 Internship
Creative Center is an in-house creative team that supports Sony Pictures Entertainment’s domestic networks: Crackle, getTV, Sony Movie Channel, and Cine Sony Television. Creative Center supports the needs of many functional groups including: Programming, Marketing, and Ad Sales as well as the SPT Mobile Games group. Creative Center is divided into three verticals that function as one cohesive team. This includes: On-Air, which specializes in video production and post production; Design, which focuses on digital and print artwork; and Operations, which focuses on keeping the On-Air and Design teams running smoothly.
Intern responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Execute basic On Air edit assistant needs – including clipping and stringouts, video compression/conversions and formatting, digitizing source content from tape, captures, transcribing, logging, etc. – as able and as available.
• Execute basic Design production artist needs, as able and as available.
• Assist in organization, renaming, and archive of live photo assets to cold storage in DF Studio.
• Work alongside Technical Manager and Technical Coordinator to ensure all source assets are requested, arrive for on-time production and delivery, and meet quality and technical standards and specifications.
• Help Technical Manager and Technical Coordinator in archiving longform content and shortform promo assets to cloud storage via established QC templatized workflows.
• Assist Technical Coordinator in inputting AV requests into project management scheduling application.
• Assist Technical Coordinator and Design Coordinator with digital file migration for the department, reducing dependency on
Qualifications:
• Enrollment in an accredited college/university for the duration of the internship is required
• Passion and interest in editing (promo, EPK, integrated marketing) and design (print/digital/social) production workflows
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite – print, design, and photo applications (Photoshop and Illustrator)
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite – editing and motion graphics applications (Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, and AfterEffects)
• Knowledge of and experience with popular video formats and codecs
• Ability to efficiently and succinctly share and provide feedback to creative brainstorming
SPE’s Fall Intern 2017 Program is a 12-week part-time program from September 25-December 15, 2017. All applicants must be enrolled in an accredited degree program for the entire duration of their internship and must be available for the full 12-week session.
