Who You Are
As a designer, you imagine and establish foundational design principles and strategies. You strive to create value for the user and the business alike. You are enthusiastic about both doing and leading.
• Solid experience designing and launching quality user-centered web and mobile products
• Deep expertise in visual design and/or IxD; ability to drive and enhance aesthetics
• Experience prototyping, iterating and refining design solutions based on user feedback
• Qualitative design research experience, including concept validation methods + usability testing
• Ability to draw from data analytics to uncover behavioral insights and inform design decisions
• Solid experience creating design artifacts (user journeys, affinity maps, archetypes, IA maps, wireframes, functional specs, case studies)
• Interest in solving complex challenges across large-scale content sites and systems
As a teammate, you’re an experienced and enthusiastic collaborator across disciplines and levels.
Well-developed skills in identifying, prioritizing and communicating design requirements; leads the solution of a product area
• Understanding of how related disciplines (strategy, product, research, engineering, etc.) relate to design and how all core design skills work together
• Ability to support design leads and team members by proactively driving the design process
• Solid experience presenting design work to senior stakeholders and addressing feedback
• A holistic approach to problem solving; visual thinker and rapid synthesizer of information
As a peer mentor, you show initiative and leadership skills within your project teams.
• Establishes design solutions and evangelizes experience principles for the Design Team at large
• Practiced at providing thoughtful feedback, accepts and resolves critique gracefully
• Strong articulation skills; ability to establish a perspective and strategy behind design decisions
• Ability to know when to set aside design and focus on the interpersonal aspects of work
• Contributes to the ongoing development of the Design Team’s culture
You may also have:
A love of cultural brands and an interest in driving the future of storytelling which will help frame the larger context we are working within, including the nature of an advertising-driven business
A desire to contribute not just as a designer, but also as as an advocate for the Design Team
Involvement with the design community in NYC and at large as we increase the visibility of Condé Nast’s growing capabilities across digital strategy and experiences
