The Field Services team thrives on providing installation and repair services for business and residential customers using the latest technology, including Fibre, Optical Ethernet, IPVPN.
Our team is responsible for definition of Field’s long-term strategy, as well as design and delivery of IT capital programs and processes to drive productivity via transformational change. We are seeking a highly motivated, analytical, strong performing individual looking to work in a fast paced, dynamic and challenging environment. This role offers direct exposure to the Field Services and Customer Operations Executive teams.
Reporting to the Vice President, Shared Services within Field Services, the Director, Strategy & PMO will oversee a team of 9 to lead the execution and delivery of the strategic planning process, and perform “deep dive” ad hoc analyses to solve problems to shape the direction for Field. This individual will work in partnership with operations, IT and Customer Operations (at times) to develop and implement strategies and projects to drive tangible financial benefits. The Director Strategy & PMO will also manage the IT capital program and governance process to enable execution of the strategy and measure performance against our plan. Our ultimate goal is to deliver the best customer experience while enabling our teams to be as effective as possible.
Job Duties/Accountabilities:
• Support strategy development and communication for EVP and SVP of Field Services including: 2 annual strategy sessions, monthly operational reviews with CEO
• Support the elements of the strategy and budget with ad-hoc analyses and presentations, working quickly and autonomously with all stakeholders to deliver high quality insights, often under aggressive timelines
• Manage activities required to support the strategy and budget planning process for the Field Services organization including partnering proactively with Customer Operations, IT, and other BUs to identify and pursue areas for performance improvement
Project Management Office/Capital management
• Develop and manage capital strategy and 3-year roadmap
• Act as program management office for all capital projects including: front door project resourcing, project governance/funding approvals, project assessment support, forecasting and tracking spend and benefits, support tools for Project Delivery teams
• Lead the Quick Hits program responsible for executing on process improvements identified by the broader Field Services team
Overall
• Develop relationships across the company and within the Field Services group, both at the working level and with senior executives
• Build strong internal client relationships based on a foundation of providing value to the company and a clear demonstration of personal and team credibility
• Maintain a pipeline of requests for analysis and insights, driven by demand for the expertise of the team and its operational focus
• Build and mentor a high quality, high performance team of strategic advisors who are able to proactively assist the organization
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration between various teams to build relationships and facilitate execution
Critical Qualifications/Competencies:
• Strong strategy development credentials, ideally founded in a previous strategy or management consulting role (5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Proven leadership skills, confidence, and ability to influence others to get things done; comfortable in a complex, fast-paced, matrix environment
• Exceptional analytical/problem solving skills with experience in developing/managing strategic business plans and requirements
• Very strong communicator; able to deal with multiple levels in the organization and adapt communication style as needed for the audience
• Results-driven, able to grasp and communicate complex ideas clearly and mobilize appropriate action
• Energetic self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Passion and experience for driving change
• General understanding of Field Services. Working knowledge of associated systems used (e.g., CLICK, FWFM, ACUT etc.) and Business Intelligence tools (e.g., MACAM, Tableau etc.), deemed an asset
• A University degree with a focus on Business, Engineering/Technology, or Process Improvement – MBA considered a strong asset
• Full mastery of all MS Office products
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
