We are looking for an outstanding Director to lead our Video Distribution Engineering and Support organization. We are seeking a strong leader to lead and develop our 24x7 teams to support cutting edge video acquisition and distribution platforms including satellite, QAM and IP platforms. Who does the Director work with?
The Director of Video Distribution Engineering and Support leads multiple 24x7 teams that support multiple video acquisition, compression and distribution platforms for Comcast and multiple commercial customers. This leader will be integral to the VACT organization working closely with our Video Reliability and Quality Team, Video Systems Engineering and Control Team, and our Video Design Strategy and Support Team as well as the entire Comcast organization and many of our commercial customers.
What are some interesting problems you'll be working on?
In this role, you will provide key leadership to the VACT Organization. You will be responsible for continuously developing our 24x7 engineering and operations teams, defining operational models, providing engineering input and guidance, all to ensure we are delivering the best customer experience in the industry! You will also be responsible for providing executive communication on platform health, project status to Comcast and our commercial customers, and drive operational ownership and accountability.
As we develop next generation platforms to acquire, encode and distribute video, this leader will be responsible for professional and technical development to be able to support the cutting edge architecture. Focus will also include defining, developing and managing tools and operational environments to aid in supporting video platforms.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead a large 24x7 engineering and operations teams responsible for next generation video platforms that provide industry leading quality and reliability.
• Lead integrations team responsible for physical integration of video platforms at our various video processing centers throughout the country.
• Influences design and development strategies.
• Directs and forecasts resource needs to meet departmental objectives.
• Drive engineering and operations accountability throughout the VACT organization.
• Develop operational processes that continuously improve video platform performance and customer experience.
• Manage our video platform vendors to strict SLAs and department performance metrics.
• Build upon relationships with our customers, both internal to Comcast and commercially.
• Facilitate career development through mentorship, formal instruction, training and guidance.
• Collaborate with all Comcast teams to continue to provide industry leading video platforms.
• Contributes to Company's IP portfolio in the form of patents.
Skills & Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in related field.
• Job requirements include 10+ years of managing operational technical teams.
• Must be able to travel 20% of the time
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significances.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Keen attention to detail and high level of commitment.
