Editorial Manager
Blizzard Entertainment
Irvine, CA, United States
Job Details - this job has expired, please see similar jobs below
We need an editorial manager. On the global communications team at Blizzard, an editorial manager is a lot of things. If you picture a being of pure energy, through which information flows like photons of light, you wouldn’t be far off. The editorial manager is half expert editor; half jacked into the matrix of EVERYTHING that Blizzard communicates about publicly; and half spirit guide for a team of fellow communicators who work hard to maintain Blizzard’s “Commit to Quality” core value amid a constant swarm of deadlines.
In practical terms, the editorial manager supports and drives editorial workflows. That includes talking to internal teams and external partners to understand current communication needs and opportunities. It also involves everything from getting our developers’ points of view on the impact of a technology change; to assigning, tracking, and developing a collection of communications documents for events such as BlizzCon; to providing editorial guidance on video scripts and executive speeches; and more. Within global publishing, the editorial manager is a PR- and marketing-oriented steward of Blizzard’s voice and public image, so deep knowledge of Blizzard’s games and history are vital, in addition to a strong editorial background.
If you’re a being of pure energy—or a skilled and accomplished communicator with editorial-leadership experience and a passion for games—and you’re looking to hone and ply your craft in the service of epic entertainment, then we have just the place for you.
