JOB TITLE:
Project Manager – Digital Development
OVERVIEW:
The Project Manager – Digital Development will oversee the successful delivery of projects and initiatives in support of AMC Networks’ digital product strategy including web, mobile web, apps and connected devices. The successful candidate will require in-depth project management knowledge, with a focus on agile, and have experience managing projects in a fast-paced environment. In addition to excelling in scope, time and budget management, the ideal Digital Development Project Manager will also have a thorough understanding of digital development in all its forms including design, UX, content, UI development, engineering, and quality assurance.
Proven experience with digital project management, as well as the ability to successfully launch new products and product features across various environments (desktop, mobile, OTT), are essential to this position. The ideal candidate is a strong leader capable of collaborating with development teams, vendors, product management and AMCN’s networks and business unit organizations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage highly visible, business and technology critical digital product driven projects, working in partnership with executive level business, Product Owners, Development / Engineering resources and external partners.
• Deliver projects across the various project management frameworks, including Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, Kanban and others depending on the project and organizational fit.
• Communicate with and manage expectations of stakeholders of all levels including executive leadership.
• Manage project scope, schedule, resource, and budget planning across the project lifecycle – discovery through delivery
• Manage multiple vendors including onshore design and offshore development/QA teams, when applicable, to tightly integrate them into project work streams.
• Proactively identify and communicate issues and manage through resolution, escalating where necessary.
• Analyze risk and mitigation accordingly, including establishing contingency plans, and initiating corrective action.
• Track status and report key project metrics including schedule, scope, resources and budget where applicable.
• Design and govern team productivity solutions such as Basecamp, SharePoint, Slack, Confluence/Jira, Hipchat, Innotas, etc.; coordinating training for team members, curating to make sure team communication and information share is optimized.
• Institute PM best practices and deliverables that exemplify these principles and employ knowledge/standards sharing across the PM team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science or business management.
• 6+ years of experience in project management for large, high visibility projects.
• 3+ years of experience managing complex digital development projects (apps, web, mobile, etc)
• Experience in full lifecycle deliveries from business development to final software acceptance.
• Experience managing new product features and/or solutions in an Agile environment.
• Ability to work effectively with business and technical resources at all levels, including senior management.
• Experience with project and portfolio management and delivery software and tools.
• Proven ability to work on tight deadlines and deliver quality results.
• Proactive problem solver, who can work both collaboratively and independently.
• Strong oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
• 2+ years in Media and Entertainment industry experience preferred.
• Certification in a related process (PMP, Scrum-master) preferred.
