TITLE:
Manager, Digital Ad Engineer
OVERVIEW OF ROLE:
The Digital Ad Engineer will be the primary stakeholder for implementing and maintaining advanced platform ad technology at AMC Networks. This role will integrate and test ad tech solutions to ensure advertising delivery, playback, reduce latency and increase monetization. This role will be the primary liaison for day-to-day collaboration between ad product, ad operations, engineering, and product development, handling on-boarding and maintenance of new ad tech vendors and distribution partners across all platforms (web, app, and OTT).
This individual will play a key role in the continuous improvement and management of all digital advertising processes. Proven experience with digital ad trafficking, debugging and campaign operations, across various web environments (desktop, mobile, OTT), are essential to this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop a deep understanding of the needs and business objectives of internal stakeholders and engage at a detailed technical level to drive product requirements.
• Accountability for planning and managing test activities.
• Create, develop and deploy detailed scripts with the QA team.
• Consulting on technical documentation during Product review phase.
• Use Jira system to track and maintain feature requirements and development progress.
• Collaborate with technical lead and scrum master to scope each development sprint, track progress, and work through development hurdles to deliver a great product on time and within scope.
• Prioritize backlog for grooming sessions to maintain a consistently up-to-date backlog of clearly defined features/stories.
• Lead video advertising technical integration projects by effectively communicating project milestones, technical requirements, timelines, and QA feedback to all stakeholders.
• Serve as a digital advertising product expert and evangelist within the AMC Networks’ Digital Product Development group.
• Collaborate with the various AMC Networks’ Digital Media teams to advance their digital advertising knowledge and capabilities.
• Perform UAT testing on video advertising products to ensure parameter criteria and values are being passed accurately.
• Work collaboratively with AMC Networks’ Digital Ad Sales team to ensure the quality of digital advertising products by developing use cases, reviewing test cases, and tracking bugs.
• Manage corporate initiatives with accurate time estimates, adherence to deadlines, and strong communication to executive stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of the latest digital advertising trends and integrate them with business roadmaps.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3-5 years experience with ad serving technology and operations, as well as Adobe Flash, HTML5, HLS, and other rich media technologies.
• Strong knowledge of ad serving standards such as VAST, VPAID, VMAP, and MRAID.
• Experience using Jira or similar system to track and maintain feature requirements and development progress.
• Experience with DoubleClick DFP and Freewheel MRM video ad servers.
• Experience with Server Side Stream Stitching like mDialog, DFP DAI.
• Experience developing digital video ad-related products and/or solutions.
• Must be able to work effectively with business and technical resources at all levels, including senior management.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Proven ability to work on tight deadlines and deliver quality results.
• Proactive problem solver, who can work both collaboratively and independently.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Entertainment industry experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
