Overview:
HarperCollins Publishers, a global trade book publishing company, seeks a talented and dynamic individual to support the Vice President of Corporate Communications and team. The Corporate Communications Assistant will manage the day-to-day administration of the Corporate Communications Department and Information/Archives Center, which are responsible for the company’s internal and external communications. This position will provide high level administrative and writing support, and assistance on the organization and execution of special projects on tight timelines.
Responsibilities:
• Provides administrative support to the Department including answering phones, filing expense reports, submitting check requests and bill payment, assisting with distribution of memos and other admin duties as necessary.
• Updates the Intranet portal and assists with the employee newsletter.
• Assists with presentations including formatting and sourcing contenet.
• Maintains and updates reports and results on projects.
• Helps coordinate company-wide events.
• Manages mailings and company donations/CSR efforts.
Information Center/Archives responsibilities:
• Orders materials from off-site storage, prepares new boxes for storage, and processes incoming and outgoing files/books/boxes.
• Assists in several retrospective cataloging projects, which will include books, contracts and other historical materials.
Qualifications:
• College degree or equivalent work experience
• Possess a keen attention to detail as well as the ability to excel in a pressure-driven environment
• Interested in a career in PR
• Is energetic, self-reliant and efficient
• Must be self-confident, poised and professional
• Comfortable working with the company’s senior management
• Ability to work without supervision on complex projects
• Must exhibit creative and critical thinking
• Excellent writing, proof reading and copyediting skills.
• Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills
• Must demonstrate a solid command of the English language in both oral and written forms
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite programs is required; Photoshop and SharePoint preferred
