Associate Producer, Seeker

The Associate Producer must be able to assist in all aspects of show production on a daily science news show on YouTube. This role requires a strong production background with 2+ years of experience in television or digital media. The ideal candidate is a highly creative self-starter who can work independently, take direction, and is very detail oriented. Strong research, writing and coordination skills are a must, as is an interest in understanding YouTube as both a platform, and community.
Responsibilities:
• Research trending topics, identify & pitch relevant science news stories. Book key experts to interview for show segments as needed
• Assist in production, post production, and delivery of daily videos
• Assist with production staff and interns
• Assist with talent and contractors
• Produce segments as assigned
• Write show notes and generate thumbnails as assigned
• Work closely with Producer and Production Management to coordinate production schedules, calendars, talent and resources
• Assist on field and studio shoots as needed
• Research library content for appropriate b-roll for various original web series
• Source and track 3rd party asset usage and music reporting
• Brainstorm creative visuals, b-roll, graphics, animations and storytelling practices
• Maintain a positive, can-do attitude in a fast-paced, busy work environment
Required Skills:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in producing TV and/or Video content
• Creative ability to use Photoshop for thumbnails
• Must be highly creative and proactive
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Must possess the ability to work independently
• Must be able to communicate effectively
• Must possess strong organization skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong work ethic
• Able to work extended hours as necessary
• Knowledge of FCP and/or Adobe Premiere preferred but not required
• Familiar and confident with camera operation
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
