Job Description
A+E Networks is seeking a Vice President, Data Strategy to develop and deploy an enterprise-wide data initiative that leverages the use of advanced analytics and process enhancement to drive business value. This is a corporate role that spans A+E brands (A&E, HISTORY, LIFETIME, LMN, FYI), platforms (linear television, VOD, Digital, Subscription video, etc.) and processes (Forecasting, Segmentation, Modeling, Optimization, Targeting). Responsibilities include:
REFINING THE VISION
• Review, validate and enhance A+E’s current data strategy, including the prioritization of relevant business use cases
• Develop detailed 36 month road map for the delivery of data products & solutions that support both core and emerging businesses, including a resource plan to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
• Generate cost-benefit analysis to fund POCs, and migrate current successful POCs into BAU processes
• Communicate Data Strategy vision, value and delivery plan to A+E stakeholders across the organization. Liaise with A+E business and technology teams to ensure the effective deployment and value creation against each use case, and provide Sr Management with updates on project status
OPERATIONALIZATION OF THE VISION
• Build and inspire a team to manage the delivery of the Data Strategy
• Oversee existing Data vendors, and lead the selection of new vendors/partners
• Enhance data collection strategies across consumer touch points, including the development and deployment of a consumer identity management process
• Support the launch of advanced analytics initiatives, including Predictive Analytics, Advanced Clustering/Segmentation, Attribution Modelling, Strategic Targeting, Cross Platform Measurement, Personalization, and the deployment of AI Machine Learning solutions
DATA GOVERNANCE & TRACKING
• Implement processes to track the business value created by Data initiatives
• Establish data quality monitoring processes and design data quality improvement programs
• Provide input into policies, procedures and terms of use for consumer data
Qualification Requirements
• 15+ years’ experience in a data-focused role, including 5+ years leadership of data strategy at a large organization
• Designed and built a Data strategy and Predictive analytics organization with supporting processes at media/entertainment focused organization
• Recruited a multi-disciplinary team and managed a suite of vendors in pursuit of generated the following types of analysis: Segmentation, Behavioral Modelling, Forecasting, Simulation, Statistical Optimization
• Fluent in industry-standard warehousing, reporting and modelling tools
• Comfort reviewing and interpreting technical documents including logical and physical data models
• Experience negotiating contracts with technical/data-oriented solution providers
• Quantitative thinker with exceptional communication skills and a business-savvy approach to developing solutions. Track record for partnering with all levels of management across an organization
• Hands-on experience with television data sets across the Nielsen product suite, set-top-box data providers, and emerging smart TV data sets
• Expertise with both (offline) CRM databases and Digital data sets, including advanced targeting, segmentation, measurement and insights
• Bachelor’s degree (Masters degree in a quantitative or technical discipline preferred)
