Transfer Implementation Coordinator

The Transfer Implementation Coordinator is responsible for coordination, execution, implementation, and roll-out of projects and initatives coming out of the Transfer stream (stream 5) in the Publication Workflow Group (PWG) programme of work, concerning optimizing workflows, processes, and reporting around the transfers service(s) in close collaboration with other department stakeholders and/or project owners, and the Transfer Policy & Implementation Coordinator.
Key tasks:
• Optimize workflows, reporting, tools, and processes around Transfer Service, by developing and testing new ideas bottom-up and developing best practices.
• Align workflows and communication around Transfer Service with the strategic direction of Springer Nature, and manage alignment with all internal stakeholders.
• Producing meaningful, business-oriented (adhoc) reporting based on various sources (eg. Editorial Manager), which will be used by the team to make strategic decisions.
• Drive business growth in transfers/provide a home for all publishable research.
• Assist Transfer Policy & Implementation Coordinator in decisions around and coordination of implementation of outsourcing of activities (inc. training and quality assurance).
• Assist Transfer Policy & Implementation Coordinator in making sure Transfer Service is editorially driven.
• Implementation/roll-out of new services.
• Ensure (communication) support (if needed in-person) and tools (e.g. slide decks, animation /video) are provided to publishing staff when in discussion with external editors-in-chief.
• Ensure the Transfer Coordinators use proper workflows and input for arriving at a list of recommended journals for an author of a rejected manuscript.
• Maintain internal records and manuals (Confluence).

Qualifications:
• Bachelor (HBO) / University level
Skills/knowledge:
• Excellent knowledge (business fluent) of the English language
• Excellent intercultural skills required for working in a global company
• Obsessively customer centric
• Data driven & Analytical. Excel: able to find, combine and structure data to deliver reports
• Computer literate: Able to work with PowerPoint, Word, and other tools when necessary (able to self teach)
• Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues at different levels
• Service-oriented mindset
• Knowledge of Editorial Manger and/or other PRS
Experience:
• Strong understanding of STM publishing
• Experience in Project Management, ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
• Experience working as a part of a team, balancing needs across stakeholders and in a complex business environment.
• Experience of working in publishing environments, and working with editorial teams, including sensitivity to editorial workflows
Desirable
• Work experience in international projects
