The Researcher Services department offers a range of services to scientists and other researchers to help them – and their institutions - succeed.
This new role presents an exciting opportunity to oversee the operational management of Researcher Training Services, comprising training workshops and webinars for researchers globally. Working across our growing portfolio of products, you will lead a small team to manage strategic operations and events for the department.
You will be an excellent communicator, with the project management skills required to organise and manage a series of premium-quality, busy training programmes (in online, webinar and face-to-face workshop formats). In addition, you will have experience of managing a team to provide a professional, customer-focussed service.

Responsibilities:
• Operational (including P&L) management of all Researcher Services training programmes, including online, webinar and face-to-face formats
• Supporting the Head of Publishing with forecasting, ensuring we have sufficient resourcing within the team and from subject matter experts
• Recruiting trainers to deliver the training, organising their travel, and working with them to ensure we deliver a premium service in line with client needs.
• Responsible for facilitating training sessions (some travel required), monitoring and reporting on feedback
• Working with business development and marketing colleagues globally to deliver each event and to drive sales, including through post-event activities.
• Line management and team supervision
Experience, skills and qualifications:
Essential
• An undergraduate degree
• Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
• A strong written and verbal communicator, able to work effectively with colleagues and clients at various levels of seniority
• Line management experience
Desirable
• Strong commercial drive and aptitude for figures, along with an interest in revenue potential and development
An understanding of educational and training techniques
• Knowledge of the researcher environment
