Responsibilities
• Design, animate, light, and composite high quality effects through to completion.
• Design, set-up, organize, and document reusable FX rigs for partner studios.
• Create reusable Nuke gizmos to work with corresponding FX rigs.
• Work with partner studios to develop and implement assets.
• Create or aid in the creation of Python tools as needed.
• Optimize set-ups for efficient rendering
• Document workflows and processes using Camtasia video and Publisher software.
• Review & note rigs and gizmos submitted by our Partner Studios.
• Collaborate with the Leads and Artists in other CG disciplines to help establish processes and pipeline integration.
• Complete all tasks within a timely manner.
Qualifications/Requirements
• A strong understanding of Maya dynamics. Knowledge of rigid bodies, nCloth, nParticiples, fluid systems, and soft bodies is preferred.
• Preferred understanding of Real Flow.
• Experience with Houdini.
• Experience in Python and Particle Illusion a plus.
• preferred background in rendering. Knowledge of Mental Ray and Vray and building its shading networks.
• Experience in advanced compositing and knowledge of Nuke or other node based compositing is a plus
• Strong aesthetic for lighting, composition, and color is a plus
Desired Characteristics
• 2-4 years experience working within a 3D production pipeline preferred.
• Experience in Television, series, or game production highly preferred.
