Content Developer Associate
The Content Developer Associate on the Content Development team is involved in the critical areas of supporting the digital content development team in growth strategy initiatives and key pilots. In this role the Content Development Associate is accountable for executing key activities in digital content and assessment creation across a variety of higher education disciplines. The position is one that requires enthusiasm, agility, creativity, precision, diplomacy, and critical thinking skills. This position reports to the Content Development Director and is based out of the Pearson Boston office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
As directed by the Content Development Director, the Content Development Associate will be responsible for the following:
• · Provide content development perspective and editing as needed to support internal and external content development partners. May include learner-centered content planning, objectives and component mapping, tools and template creation, metadata tagging, and analysis of digital content feedback.
• · Support the Content Development team in preparing training materials for digital content partners, authors, and vendors
• · Participate in the creation, updating, and maintenance of content development resourcing database
• · Support tracking of vendor and author digital content deliverables
• · Obtain and prepare content materials for content development teams and help coordinate onboarding of third party vendors
• · Serve as independent development perspective on sample content, proposals, and initiative prototypes and make recommendations to the Director of Content Development for efficiencies, improvements, and solutions to content challenges
• · Create examples for third party vendors which support the Pearson digital content guidelines and best practices
• · Generally support the Content Development team in support of key division goals
• · Represent Content Development interests in cross-functional Pearson meetings
• Communicate information and potential problems as well as proactively present creative solutions to Content Development management regularly
• Develop a deep understanding of Pearson’s corporate mission, initiatives, and standards and serve as a resource for the higher education team to keep them current on changes in processes, requirements, and standards
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, advanced education-related coursework preferred
• Minimum of three or more years of higher education digital content development experience with proven success required
Required Skills:
• Knowledge of higher education, learning principles, and the creation and development of learner-centered content is a plus
• Ability to understand, adapt, initiate, and implement change required
• Evidence of strategic and analytical thinking and planning, team leadership, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, good judgment, and the ability to influence others is required
• Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills as well as the ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information effectively
• Ability to lead and collaborate actively with others on internal and external cross-functional teams and to build consensus and foster collaborative relationships across teams
• Demonstrate the ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational skills is required
• Exceptionally strong attention to detail is required
• Excellent organization, time management, prioritization and planning skills.
• Ability to adapt to new software products for course and/or learning experience delivery and learning management systems
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, MS Project, Smartsheet, and other project management tools
