DESCRIPTION:
Division Overview:
The CBS Interactive Media group includes two premiere entertainment review aggregators - Metacritic and Game Rankings. Each brand, in addition to publishing general purpose articles focusing on Film, Games, Music, and TV, tracks the reviews of the leading entertainment critics from around the world by posting their reviews scores, links and short snippets from the those reviews.
Role Details:
The primary and ongoing role of an Editor are to evaluate the general body of critics and select those who will be tracked on a day-to-day basis. The Editor’s most essential daily responsibility is to post the links to and scores from every eligible review from the list of publications we’ve decided to track.
Day-to-Day:
• The Editor reads and posts all new reviews published from partner sites every day, including during late night periods and weekends when there are critical "embargo" situations.
• The Editor actively manages the moderation queue, which contains "reported abuse" from user contributions on review pages and feature articles
• The Editor collects and adds assets (box/poster art and product/plot descriptions) to all upcoming titles sourced from publisher materials and official sites.
• The Editor must be responsive to users, including to emails from publications requesting inclusion in our aggregation process, from publishers and developers inquiring as to details/procedures surrounding our systems, and from users suggesting improvements, revisions, or fixes to our current processes - all which require the utmost professionalism, tact, and enthusiasm.
• The Editor must work closely with our data partners within CBS Interactive to make sure all of our sites have as close to a 100% complete set of products as possible.
• In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities, the Editor will participate with other editors in an Archives Project which involves adding older high profile titles to our database and harvesting older reviews.
