Job Title Marketing Specialist
I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
The Marketing Coordinator develops cross-platform marketing initiatives utilizing marketing and research tools for sales management and account executives to generate materials that drive revenue, and build/maintain the quality of the KCTV/KSMO/KCTV5.com brand. The Marketing Coordinator works with management, sales and corporate staff on multi-platform business processes, including targeting/prospecting, research, and concept and creative proposal development for use by the sales force. In addition, the Marketing Coordinator implements and organizes all NTR (non- traditional revenue), as well as new revenue producing opportunities on KCTV, KSMO, and the Web.
II. Essential Job Functions

25% Helps lead creative efforts to improve effectiveness of stations client presentations working closely with sales management, account executives, sales assistants and clients. Provides strong support in developing proposals, data collection and crafting of narrative that supports the marketing and promotional objectives of clients and Meredith and Stations image/ brand.
20% Develops and writes proposals for revenue generating marketing programs and added value promotions. Implementation of NTR, and other revenue producing opportunities. Works with account executives to develop and coordinates sales presentations and sponsorships.
Utilizes and understands multiple research and marketing tools to create the strongest research-supported recommendations for the clients. Understands the key drivers of success that make the offers successful and work collaboratively across sales, research, promotion and production to ensure seamless execution
20% Leads and coordinates our Take 5 to Care (KC Outreach) program with various community charities. Coordinate and review applications from various charities to partner with KCTV/KSMO and our client sponsors/underwriters. This will include attending luncheons, events and planning the set up/teardown of station participation at events sponsored by KCTV/KSMO. Will also research and provide ideas for possible future partners. Responsible for collecting post-mortem data of events and discussing with station management for initiating POP spots get produced. This person will also serve as the liaison with our Chief's contacts for promotions and any other issues regarding the Chief's and KCTV.
15% Coordinates sales efforts and is the liaison with various station departments for local specials / events, ancillary sporting opportunities and all station projects. Responsible for creating comprehensive sales packages for these initiatives in a creative and timely manner. Handles station contests (acquiring rules from legal, maintaining any database/contest entry requirements) and coordinates with the Sales managers and AE’s as appropriate.
10% Handles and maintains marketing projects and reporting accountability/tracking of all team projects (such as TEAM, Cornerstones, product integration, contests, ancillary projects. Organizes promotional calendar of events and opportunities for stations. Initiate production and digital elements to completion.
10% Collaborates with the Digital Sales Manager to create and develop packages, strategy and client solutions in their digital marketing needs. Drives the development of compelling offers for digital campaigns across different clients and industries working closely with the DSM and AE’s.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Minimum five years’ experience in sales promotion, research and/or marketing position
At least two years’ developing multi-media/cross-platform campaigns.
Prior TV or advertising agency experience preferred.
Working knowledge and expertise of wide orbit, Scarborough, Adviews or CMR type of programs preferred.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Well-developed presentation skills.
Ability to work some weekends/evening hours when required.
Ability to work independently and/or in cooperation with a team or group.
Ability to develop ideas and follow through with their completion.
Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with station clients, the public, and other station departments.
Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and tasks handling multiple assignments, while meeting “tight” deadlines in an environment subject to constant change and interruptions.
Computer skills utilizing Microsoft software including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
