Responsibilities
NBC Universal Sports Group consists of Sports Broadcast, Cable, Golf, Regional, and Digital Sports across the USA. The Business Analysis Lead shall gather and document business requirements to support the development of an enterprise application that will manage sports events (remote and studio). The application will consist of best of breed vendor products integrated together and with corporate systems. The event management system supports event planning and budgeting, hiring and onboarding, integration with travel systems, hotel allocation management, equipment management, and empirical and analytical reporting. There are extensive Integrations to downstream systems like SAP for payroll, time keeper, data warehouse, and external vendor systems like AIMIA for T&E, etc.
Under the direction of the Program Manager, this role will provide leadership and supervision to a group who is responsible for developing, documenting and driving user-defined business requirements which support the strategic objectives of NBC Sports. The Business Analysis Lead must develop a deep knowledge of supported business areas as well as the tools in place to support those businesses. This role provides an effective liaison between the business departments, various IT departments, and external vendors providing IT related services. Primary business champions include the President of NBC Sports Operations and Strategy, SVP of Human Resources, CFO/COO, Remote operations leader, Studio operations leaders, Olympics operations leaders, and Sports operations leaders.
Manage the collection of project related artifacts supporting a wide variety of critical business functions around Olympics, remote, production and studio events and reporting needs across NBC Sports including, but not limited to, business and functional requirement specification documents, user interface guides, use case specification, business and system process flows.
Partner with project management to prepare and update schedule estimations, collaborate on risk identification and mitigation, and drive on time and on budget deliverables.
Partner with the business and technical team on solution design with a focus on streamlining workflow and standardizing the event process across NBC Sports Group.
Partner with solution provider/vendors for gap analysis and plan and prioritize to fill vendor gaps to meet NBCU Sports functional requirements.
Provide guidance in formulating new requirements and aim to improve business processes by coming up with creative and alternative approaches to solving business problems.
Manage scope and user expectations by ensuring requirements can be met within existing project budgets and timeframes.
Provide supervision and guidance to the business analysis staff.
Assist in producing user training documentation and working with the business to train users.
Identify needs and allocate the appropriate resources to meet timely completion of specific project tasks.
Communicate effectively with external business partners and internal teams to oversee the delivery of project requirements.
Successfully oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Determine feasibility, time required and compatibility with current systems/business processes on all new inbound requests.
Partner with QA team members to optimize defect logging, tracking, prioritization and remediation.
Solicit feedback from customers and incorporate into product roadmap.
Provide Post-Production support around enhancements, bug fixes and new process
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline and/or demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities through previous experience and education
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision as part of a dynamic IT team while under aggressive deadlines to meet project commitments.

Prepare accurate and detailed requirement specifications documents, user-interface guides, and functional specification documents, (including use cases) for screen design, report designs and GUI interaction
Design and execute test scripts, test scenarios and lead UAT
Create applicable training materials and lead training
Work with Functional managers in executing acceptance testing for enhancements/break-fixes
Strong verbal and team-based collaborative skills
Desired Characteristics
Good understanding of Media technologies and processes
Experience managing 3rd party media systems and vendors
Exposure and general knowledge of a variety of hardware and software disciplines
Experience in Broadcast Television & Cable Operations a plus
Ability to work independently under minimum supervision and proactive in solving issues
Energy, commitment and solution focused, ability to perform under pressure and meeting stretch targets
Team player, ability to work in global environment
Some travel within U.S.A as needed basis
