Responsibilities
Job Summary/Purpose Dateline is seeking an Associate Web Producer to assist in all aspects of digital production of long form content.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a project / limited term position with an estimated duration of up to 12 months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.
Job Duties
Work with the Dateline digital and production teams to create multimedia content for the website and social media platforms.
Conceptualize, write, shoot and edit digital franchises for the Dateline brand.
Cut and publish Dateline broadcasts for the web.
Maintain Dateline short-form and full-episode content on the Dateline website, Youtube.com, nbcnews.com and social platforms.
Attend planning meetings with NBC News Digital to identify and suggest coverage that would be mutually beneficial.
Coordinate with the nbcnews.com team on long-term concept projects
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, History, or a related field of study
Must have at least 2 years’ editorial production experience for a network or cable operation
Experience editing in Avid
Familiarity with Photoshop
Experience with CMS platforms
Strong interest in and proficiency in social media

Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
Must be “on call” 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
Must be able to provide a reel/portfolio of work examples -- if available, include a web address when you submit your resume
Desired Qualifications
Shooting 5D, DSLR and ENG video cameras a plus
Ability to light and shoot sit down, multi-camera interviews
Ability to shoot both breaking news and documentary style b-roll
Ability to edit with non-linear editing systems, specifically AVID
Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in news and current events
Strong journalistic writing skills, research skills and editorial judgment
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
Knowledge of NBC News Policies, Guidelines and Practices
