Conde Nast’s Social News Desk seeks an ambitious, organized, and creative Photo Research Fellow for our New York office. The ideal candidate will have a passion for pop culture, quality photography, and social media as this position involves sourcing art for content ranging from articles to videos to native social assets, across many different Conde Nast brands and social platforms. Excellent problem-solving skills and creative thinking are an absolute must, as is the ability to function effectively (and independently) in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
Daily responsibilities may include:
• Work with Photo Editor to choose art to accompany trending news articles and native social assets
• Select eye-catching photos & videos from wire services, photo agencies, social media and more
• Provide art and visual support to editorial and social teams
• Research images for upcoming holidays, anniversaries, events
• Conceptualize and create original photo story ideas cantered around trending content
• Use Photoshop to create composite images
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
• Motivated, flexible, team player
• Strong understanding of Photoshop; additional Creative Suite experience is preferred
• Experience researching and sourcing a variety of images
• Passion for and strong understanding of pop culture, celebrities, beauty, fashion, and lifestyle
• An understanding of best practices for promoting content on social media platforms
• Video editing/graphic design skills are strongly preferred
• Ability to multitask under pressure, manage time effectively, and learn quickly
About the Condé Nast Fellowship Program
The Condé Nast Fellowship is open to college graduates who are striving to be: editors, designers, video editors, producers, web editors, digital designer or social media specialists. We are seeking smart, passionate, enthusiastic professionals who have had exposure to an office environment and some professional work experience to contribute to our business in meaningful ways.
Length of program: 3 months
Pay: $12.25 per hour, 40 hours per week, Schedule to be determined.
