Responsibilities
Do you want to work in one of the most rapidly growing and dynamic segments in the film industry? We are looking for a highly collaborative, creative, energetic finance professional to drive immediate impact to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (UPHE) Digital Distribution’s team. This is a key role as consumers shift their film viewing consumption habits to digital and the business needs to optimize this trend. The core accountability is to lead & drive the financial planning & analysis for digital films in home entertainment’s new release window and new business models. It will require deep ownership in the financial performance management at the film title level, and through our partner digital storefronts. Reporting to the CFO, New Media and Digital Distribution, this role will also collaborate closely with business analytics, sales teams, marketing, and controllership.
Responsibilities:
Manage financial planning and analysis for Film OTT (over-the-top), video on demand (VOD) and electronic sell through (EST), including quarterly and annual forecasts for titles in UPHE’s New Release window.
Build new financial competency in creating financial tools & analysis to enhance transparency in UPHE’s digital retailers’ sales & profit performance across Apple, Google, Amazon, Vudu, cable and telco operators.
Evolve the new release planning & monitoring process to identify areas of growth, business improvement, and repeatable actions. Streamline existing processes; enhance reporting views; and improve forecast accuracy.
Lead & drive the title lifecycle management from Greenlight estimates to Pre-Release to 26 Week estimate performance through detailed modeling & analysis and close partnership with business analytics & marketing teams.
Collaborate closely with sales & marketing team to determine pricing and promotion strategies during titles’ lifecycle.
Participate and advise on future year planning and forecasting activities, and provide thought leadership around business drivers and their impact.
Coordinate close related activities to ensure revenue recognition adheres to UPHE controllership policies.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Minimum 8 years of experience in Finance or Accounting
Preferred experiences in Home & Entertainment and/or Consumer Technology industries

Desired Characteristics:
Deep understanding & expertise in successful BI Reporting, Financial Analysis, Accounting and related Financial processes.
Strong analytical skills and proven capacity to do “deep dives” in numbers to discover root causes and business drivers.
Experience using business insight to recommend and solve complex and challenging problems.
Proven ability to drive to results even under difficult or ambiguous circumstances.
Proficiency in statistical modeling & analysis; above average Excel skills.
A demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, establishes trust quickly, and creates win-win situations.
Curiosity and drive to learn the film digital business and be able to influence decision making across multiple levels.
