Overview and Responsibilities
This position oversees the Interactive Marketing team for Paramount Home Media Distribution, which includes titles across Paramount theatrical, acquisition, TV and catalog. Interactive Marketing includes online publicity, social media (domestic and international), analytics, e-mail marketing, website creative and online content creation. This role is key in translating the overall marketing efforts into a cohesive digital strategy across all online mediums. The role requires coordination with several internal departments, legal, talent and filmmakers to ensure brand consistency for each film.
Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
• Develops data-driven digital marketing plans and promotions designed to drive engagement and increase sales through digital and physical offerings to achieve business goals.
• Delivers the appropriate brand campaign type, messaging and materials to maximize awareness and ROI.
• Coaches, mentors and advises marketing staff on developing digital trends, including employees and co-workers.
• Maintains relationships with filmmakers, talent and talent publicists to facilitate approvals for all necessary digital marketing efforts and campaign strategies.
• Interfaces directly with brand, creative, retail, digital, publicity, media, finance and legal to produce a fully realized marketing campaign for each release.
• Oversees a team of online publicists to maximize positive press coverage for all film and television releases.
• Continues to evolve digital publicity efforts, in order to adapt with the ever-changing marketplace.
• Supervises all domestic and international social media efforts for Paramount Home Media Distribution, including over 350 social handles for theatrical and acquisition title releases.
• Curates content across Facebook, Instagram, Instagram Stories, SnapChat, Twitter, YouTube and any new social platforms that become prevalent.
• Guides a constantly evolving interactive content strategy that keeps social media messaging aligned with priority campaigns/narratives.
• Manages the public facing voice of the domestic and international Paramount Home Entertainment brand on all social media handles.
• Creates noteworthy digital marketing content in multiple formats including video, social, comic, poster and static placements to be distributed online to drive maximum awareness.
• Leads initiatives to establish relationships with key influencers and empowering fan communities.
• Identifies and implements “real time” social media content opportunities and executions.
• Ensures all social media communications are on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice.
• Coordinates efficient and effective working relationships with internal teams and external vendors.
• Analyzes ongoing usability tests and competitive audits to gauge social media effectiveness as a part of the ongoing fan conversation.
• Oversees a team that manages all creative updates and development for HTML optimized official websites and e-mail marketing.
• Utilizes search engine optimization (SEO) tools across each online web destination to allow for top search ranking.
• Builds relationships with external vendors and agencies to help ideate and execute creative digital marketing materials.
• Develops digital marketing projects utilizing new mediums like VR, AR, 360 Video, and Live Video.
• Administers affiliate tracking programs for all available digital and physical purchase destinations.
• Maintains and manages an online marketing budget for all ongoing releases.
• Leads, manages and develops direct reports and creates an inspiring environment to foster productivity, development, team collaboration and creativity.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field is required.
• 10+ years of experience in the entertainment field as a respected contributor in multichannel content creation.
• 5+ years of experience in the online publicity space.
• 5+ years of experience in the social media space.
• 5+ years of experience in the web creation and e-mail marketing space.
• Ability to simultaneously develop campaigns for multiple genres and mediums.
• Experience with creating fan engaging messaging and conversations for different target demographics required.
• Proficient with Photoshop, Power Editor, After Effects and Microsoft Office.
• Skilled at both long form and real time digital content creation and distribution strategies/tactics.
• Clear articulation of the business goal behind the creation of a piece (or series) of content.
• Strong people skills. Must be able to manage relationships across multiple business units, departments, talent teams, filmmakers and external vendors.
• Familiarity with principles of marketing (and the ability to adapt them as dictated by data).
• Fluency in web analytics tools, social media marketing applications, and leading social media monitoring platforms.
• Basic understanding of HTML coding and creative development.
• Continual learning of the latest platforms, technology tools, and marketing solutions.
• Must be able to maintain project confidentiality.
