Brand Overview:
SportsLine is the premier picks and projections site. Covering NFL, college football, NBA, NHL, golf, college basketball, and more, SportsLine works in conjunction with other CBS Interactive brands to provide quality sports picks, computer simulations, and unique content to subscribers.
Role Details:
We are looking for a high energy, creative-thinking person to lead the marketing, social media, subscriber acquisition, subscriber retention, and media relations efforts at SportsLine.com, the industry's top picks and projections site. This person will work in conjunction with CBS Sports, 247Sports, and Scout to build SportsLine's subscriber base and overall traffic.
Your Day-to-Day:
• Oversee social media efforts. Coordinate with 247Sports, CBS Sports, and other business units for Twitter, Facebook, and other platforms. Disseminate content via social media in a timely manner to relevant audiences. Quality-check all social media posts.
• Manage and be responsible for sending newsletters on behalf of SportsLine. These require a candidate to be available seven days a week and coordinate with other business units as required. Newsletters include, but are not limited to, 247Sports, SportsLine's current members, SportsLine's past members, and SportsLine's general audience.
• Basic reporting for SportsLine (i.e. cancels, new subscribers, call volume). Distribute this information on a daily basis.
• Produce content to distribute on social media. Produce content as requested by SportsLine's Editor in Chief.
• Develop strategies to grow SportsLine's subscriber base through acquisition and retention. Coordinate with other departments to execute growth strategies.
• Elicit feedback from the customer service team to plan marketing efforts.
Key Projects:
• Increase SportsLine's marketing presence on third-party sites through ad buying and other partnerships.
• Analyze reports to determine customer acquisition and behavior.
• Help develop new features on SportsLine. Assist with design, quality testing, and development as required.
• Coordinate marketing efforts with CBS Sports for start-of-season and special events (i.e. March Madness, start of football season, Masters, NBA Finals)
• Understand what events drive traffic to CBS Sports, 247Sports, and Scout and create marketing plans accordingly.
• All other duties as assigned by Circulation Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
What you bring to the team--
You have:
• 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 4 years of experience in marketing or related field
• Must be available to work seven days a week, 365 days a year, including extensive weekend hours from September to March
• Strong attention to detail, well organized and quality conscious
• Focused attitude and the ability to work independently with excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent grammar, written and oral communication skills
You might also have:
• Knowledge of the sports world and a passion for sports
• Proficient analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Led a marketing team
