Job Purpose
The Director, Production Finance will be responsible for annual show costs and will oversee the TV Production financial and accounting processes for NBC Universal Broadcast Network, Basic Cable Network, 1st Run and Reality pilots, MOW’s, specials and series to ensure timely and accurate recording, reporting of actual and estimated show costs, correct payment of show vendors, staff, crew, and talent.
Essential Responsibilities
Work with Legal and Business Affairs, Labor Relations, HR, Production Operations and Financial Departments to effectively manage the financial operations, including cash flow projections, ultimates and cost reporting for assigned productions.
Manage production accountants and assistants, coordinate show budgeting and production accounting process with accountants.
Manage the set up of show accounting system using appropriate payroll software.
Implement uniform reporting requirements, standard accounting procedures, oversee daily/weekly show cost reporting.
Coordinate and implement tax, labor and sourcing policies and objectives.
Manage production cash flow and support the weekly and quarterly corporate financial accounting and corporate cash management processes.
Implement and ensure uniform budget policies.
Key financial management liaison between production executives, show accountants, show producer/UPM, and corporate finance.
Ensure that the NBCU financial controllership and production policies and procedures are uniformly implemented operationally and that payroll is in accordance with standards established by NBCU and is in compliance with collective bargaining agreement and state and local tax regulations.
Oversee the budgeting of the projects for pilots and series.
Management of direct and indirect staff.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Prefer in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience required.
Prefer prior experience as a TV Production Finance Exec.
Entertainment Partners Vista Accounting, Movie Magic, and Entertainment Partners Budgeting Software experience required.
Broad experience with various TV genres including Broadcast Network and Cable Network scripted 1 hr and 1/2 hour Drama, 1 hour Comedy.
Experience with industry union and guild agreements required.
Eligibility Requirements

Desired Characteristics
Ability to influence senior leadership, lead and manage direct and indirect staff – superior communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Freelance accountant progressing to management experience at a large independent or major studio.
Experience with preparation of television series show budgets and estimates.
Demonstrated ability to deliver while working under time pressure on multiple assignments, and to adapt and work well in a rapidly changing environment.
Experience with international productions and related tax and accounting issues desired.
Strong analytical ability.
