DESCRIPTION:
The Sales Associate is responsible for assigned Direct Response (DR) Category accounts and manages the day-to-day support function of the Sales Managers and Account Executives within the Spot Sales Office.
Answering requests for and providing DR rate cards, programming and ratings data for clients. Reviewing inventory and market conditions for likelihood of clearance at different rate levels and spot lengths for any given client and daypart considerations.
Searching for and identifying accounts, clients and advertising agencies in our region that place any network, cable, radio or local broadcast television orders for a DR client.
Contacting existing clients, buyers or planners in our region that place any network, cable, radio or local broadcast television orders for a DR or internet client and promoting local television and digital opportunities with CBS Television Stations.
Attending sales calls along with a manager to set up or cement relationships with clients. Face calls, written/electronic communications throughout the sales process to present market information, industry trends, CBS programming, research and promotion of CBS Television Stations. Works to initiate, cement and/or increase CBS participation in each DR clients’ campaigns with ‘sweet spot’ rate levels that provide integrity for station clearance and mutually benefits the client.
Negotiating increased activity, frequency and extended flights. Counter-pitching cancel requests or rate deductions by offering alternative options. Resolving discrepancies, payments for days-aging, and converting cable or competitive dollars to CBS local television.
Managing the day-to-day operation of the Spot Sales Office, including answering phones, ordering supplies, preparing time cards and maintaining files.
Researching, negotiating and finding solutions for pre-empts and make-goods, which includes working with station personnel and the client/agency. Adjusting post-buy reports for break averages and providing reports to clients/agencies using their specified formats. Determining the need for under-delivery weight and negotiating with station and client/agency to resolve ADU situations.
Inputting orders, executing revisions, sending invoices, sending pre/post logs, compiling weekly post-buy reports and helping to resolve discrepancies for all clients.
Managing all internet orders from system entry to monitoring/tracking impressions and trafficking copy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
4 year College Degree, and sales experience
