The Position:
E! News is seeking a high-performing individual to help drive our content strategy and prioritize the presentation and publishing of content. We are looking for a dynamic team player who will thrive in a fast-paced, hardworking and entrepreneurial atmosphere. This position will report to the SVP Content and Editor-in-Chief for E! News and will be based out of our Universal City headquarters. As the Vice President of Content Publishing and Audience Strategy, you will help to shape our mix of content, how and where that content is published and drive a publishing strategy that appropriately balances brand, audience and revenue goals.
You will work closely with content category leads and senior producers to identify trends, opportunities, and priorities that drive the growth of E! News across it’s owned and operated platforms, as well as key social and distributed platforms. You will also provide leadership and make recommendations for ways to drive audience and engagement across social media. The position will be responsible for presenting and articulating a unified content and audience strategy that delivers maximum value, while ensuring our brand position remains strong.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Audience and publishing lead who looks at the landscape, identifies opportunities and creates actionable plans to take advantage of them
• Provide guidance to Content leads on what works, what does not and unexploited opportunities for growth
• Ideate and execute audience strategy for E! News
• Work with all departments to increase E! News audience across our ecosystem of platforms and across our verticals of Lifestyle, Features, Branded Content and Breaking News
• Work closely with the research team to analyze audience patterns, uncover trends and prepare the business for audience changes
• Drive and produce more value across all platforms by advising on content strategy and distribution
• Anticipate changes in market demand and work with department heads to help drive re-alignment throughout the organization
• Monitor performance and work cross-departmentally to promote content across E! News
• Deep understanding of market competitors, market trends, opportunities and competitive challenges
• Develop effective and creative audience strategies; uncover and develop new market opportunities for audience growth
• Drive internal innovation and help drive scalable execution
• Ensure resources and efforts are being included across scalable opportunities
• Manage team of audience development/content strategy
Qualifications/Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in audience development/content strategy at a top media brand
• Experience leading and executing successful audience development strategies; must be able to demonstrate past success through measurable audience data
