OVERVIEW OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Based in London and heading up a team of Assignment Desk editors, you will coordinate and implement coverage of breaking news and ongoing stories on an international scale. That means keeping one ear to the ground as you identify and research into stories from various sources – social media, newswires, affiliated and independent news services. It also means coordinating the gathering and feeding of accurate news material, setting assignments and making sure your team are getting first coverage of interesting stories. Succeed, and you’ll help to keep NBC News delivering the service our customers have come to expect and reinforce our reputation as the number one news broadcaster in the US.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
With extensive experience in professional news/content production--either with a program, bureau or assignment desk, you’ll have a good understanding of the NBC News audience and a strong knowledge of current events to back it up. TV production, affiliates & satellite operations experience is essential. As are strong news judgment, research & communication skills, a grasp of the digital news content, and the ability to work effectively in a challenging, fast-paced environment. It goes without saying that you’ll maintain a professional conduct at all times, especially when leading and managing a team. Just as importantly, you’ll be willing to work flexible hours and be organised enough to manage a busy work schedule.

• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Full English language capabilities.
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news
