DESCRIPTION:
Smithsonian Channel is currently searching for a Temporary Sales Planner based out of New York office. This person will be responsible for the daily maintenance of advertiser schedules, working closely with Sales and Traffic to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Duties include the input of advertiser schedules into Broadway Sales System and the electronic transfer of same schedules to ad agencies. The Planner will also handle program schedule changes, make-goods and brand allocations & be able to communicate with ad agencies about changes to media schedules. This position will also provide administrative support for the Ad Sales group when needed, including assistance with Presentations, Travel, Quarterly Mailings & Sponsorships. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) are required for daily communication with advertiser/agency contacts, as well as internally with Sales & Traffic teams. Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical and time management skills are required to ensure optimal customer service. The candidate should be a self-motivated team player who is looking to learn about media business from the ground up.
Specific responsibilities:
• Provide daily maintenance of advertiser schedules and assist Sales Planners in development of media schedules
• Communicate with advertiser/agency contacts on continuous basis and develop strong working relationships with buyers, planners and clients
• Track performance of advertiser schedules on weekly basis to ensure that schedules are running as ordered and are delivering to their guarantees, if it is a National deal.
• Manage and track added value elements of advertiser schedules including vignettes, billboards and multi-platform elements.
• Assist Salespeople and Management with presentations, travel and quarterly mailings
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 1+ year hands-on experience at Ad Agency or Network or related experience during College
• Interest in sales planning and television
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• High competency level in PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• Team player willing to learn and pitch in as needed
• Customer Service focused
