Assistant Permissions Editor
The Custom Rights and Permissions Department at Pearson is hiring a small team of temporary Assistant Permissions Editors for a paid Spring/Summer 2017 internship in the Boston location.
The Assistant Permissions Editors will request and obtain reprint permissions/licenses for text and images, research and acquire art/photos, and work to achieve the highest possible clearance rate within the defined budget and schedule constraints of their work load. The Assistant Permissions Editors will work individually and with a team to ensure timely and accurate rights clearance, process invoices to completion, and complete and file projects on a rolling basis.
Job Responsibilities include:
• Secure reprint rights via contract/invoice for text and image selections
• Write and copyedit credit lines, copyright acknowledgments, and copyright pages
• Balance schedules and workload to meet deadlines for assigned projects
• Update, maintain, and ensure accuracy of permissions database
• Research correct copyright holders and contact information to secure rights
• Research and acquire images for specific art and/or photo requests
Other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• 1-2 years of office experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in college
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence communicating via email and telephone
• Strong sense of initiative and ability to follow through on tasks/projects
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Google Mail/Calendar and conducting Internet research

This is a non-benefit eligible, hourly paid, temporary role lasting from May through the end of August. Relocation is not available for this position.
