The Classroom Assessment Products group within our Assessments division is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Product Manager for aimswebPlus, a new assessment and reporting suite. Under guidance from the Director of aimsweb Product and Services, the successful candidate will provide strong leadership in managing aimswebPlus, taking ownership of decisions related to this exciting evolution of the aimsweb line.
The candidate will participate in defining, executing and driving the product delivery and marketing strategy. Excellent communication skills are required as the candidate must effectively interact with internal (product development, software, R&D, and sales groups) and external stakeholders and customers, such as school-, district-, and state-level administrators. Experience with software or assessment product management in K-12 education is a plus, as are strong analytic and communication skills. You will need to clearly articulate complex concepts, features, and benefits to customers, partners, prospects and internal teams.
This position will report to the Director of aimsweb Product and Services.
Primary responsibilities include:
● Product owner / general manager mentality; take ownership of aimswebPlus decisions related to strategy, implementation, and brand
● Be the primary evangelist for aimswebPlus inside and outside of Pearson
● Use deep market insights and competitive analysis to define and prioritize critical features for aimswebPlus assessments
● Drive customer and market research to inform product decisions
● Manage roadmap: Prioritize feature enhancements / releases based on product and market analysis and customer needs
● Effectively communicate business and functional requirements to Sr leadership, management, peers and development teams
● Work closely with sales and client services team to secure strategic accounts and partnerships; and to provide support throughout the client acquisition process
● Identify market growth opportunities, define product positioning and overall go-to-market plans, in partnership with Product Marketing teams
Qualifications
● 5+ years of experience and increasing responsibility in assessment or software product management, preferably in K-12 Education.
● Experience with Agile and user-centric product design and development
● Outstanding relationship and organizational skills
● Excellent written communication and presentation skills
● Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
● Bachelor’s degree required, Master's degree preferred
